This art lover began his rich collection in the 70s and now has 3 exhibition sites for his numerous works of modern and contemporary art: the <strong>Paris Stock Exchange<\/strong>the <strong>Palazzo Grassi<\/strong> and the <strong>Punta della Dogana<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>These last two buildings are located in Venice and serve as the headquarters of the Pinault Foundation and as museums, as I present to you!<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Introducing Palazzo Grassi<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Palazzo Grassi is a <strong>neoclassical style<\/strong>one of the very last palaces to be built in <a href=\"https:\/\/bonjourvenise.fr\/en\/venice-tourism\/\">Venice<\/a> before the fall of the Republic in 1797. Fran\u00e7ois Pinault acquired it in 2005 to turn it into a museum and <strong>the Pinault Foundation headquarters in Venice<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Previously, this prestigious building belonged to the Grassi family, ruined after the demise of the Republic of Venice. It passed from hand to hand over the following centuries, including purchases by <strong><em>l'Avvocato<\/em> Gianni Agnelli<\/strong> (CEO of FIAT), who transforms it into a showroom.<\/p>\n<p>When Pinault acquired it, he entrusted its restructuring to the famous Japanese architect <strong>Tadao Ando<\/strong>whose work includes Tokyo's immense Skytree. He will be in charge of the project and will renovate this Palace, as well as the Punta della Dogana and the Bourse du Commerce in Paris.<\/p>\n<p>The largest fa\u00e7ade of Palazzo Grassi overlooks the <a href=\"https:\/\/bonjourvenise.fr\/en\/grand-canal-venice\/\">Venice Grand Canal<\/a> but the more intimate entrance is on the side of the <strong>Campo Samuele<\/strong>.  From the majestic staircase leading to the upper floors, to the frescoes and superb columns, this place is well worth a visit!<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Introduction to Punta della Dogana<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The other venue housing works from the Pinault Foundation in Venice is <strong>Punta della Dogana<\/strong>located in the <strong>Dorsoduro<\/strong> (Cf &gt; <a href=\"https:\/\/bonjourvenise.fr\/en\/map-of-venice-2\/\">my interactive map of Venice<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>This building-turned-museum is located in the old customs house of Venice, hence its name. For direct access, here's how.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Getting to Palazzo Grassi<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Palazzo Grassi is located at the following address: <em>Campo San Samuele, 3231, 30124 Venice<\/em><\/p>\n<p>All you need to do is borrow <a href=\"https:\/\/bonjourvenise.fr\/en\/vaporetto-venice\/\">a Vaporetto<\/a> and get off at Station <em>San Samuele<\/em> to get there.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Reaching Punta della Dogana<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Punta Della Dogana is located at the following address: <em>Dorsoduro, 2, 30123 Venice<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/bonjourvenise.fr\/en\/boats-venice\/\">boats<\/a> is the nearest <em>Salute<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Please note<\/strong>\u00a0if you're planning to take the vaporetto in Venice, there are <a href=\"https:\/\/bonjourvenise.fr\/en\/vaporetto-pass-venice\/\">a Vaporetto Pass<\/a> which allows you to take them unlimited and save money!<br \/>\n<a name=\"4\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h2><strong>Fondation Pinault Venice: prices, booking, opening hours and practical information<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Here's everything you need to know about visiting the Pinault Foundation in Venice.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Rates and booking<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Adult ticket: 15 euros<\/li>\n<li>Reduced ticket (students under 25\/over 65): 12 euros<\/li>\n<li>Free for children under 19<\/li>\n<li>Free on Wednesdays for Venetians and students of Venetian universities<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The ticket gives access to <strong>at both museums<\/strong>\u00a0Palazzo Grassi and Punta della Dogana! Tickets are available on site or via the official website.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Opening hours<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Palazzo Grassi is open <strong>every day<\/strong>from 10am to 7pm, except December 25th.<\/p>\n<p>The same applies to the Punta della Dogana, which is currently under renovation. It will reopen to the public in April 2023.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Practical information<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The visit can be quite quick, but it will be done in a quiet atmosphere, which can be pleasant between two visits. <a href=\"https:\/\/bonjourvenise.fr\/en\/monuments-venice\/\">visits to monuments<\/a> very busy.<\/p>\n<p>However, I advise you to check <strong>the nature of the exhibitions <\/strong>during your stay.
