Here's its history and what's inside!<\/p>\n<h3><strong>History of Ca'Rezzonico<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The construction of the <strong>Palazzo Ca'Rezzonico<\/strong> began in 1667 at the request of the Bon family, who commissioned the architect Baldassarre Longhena. Longhena was responsible for several of Venice's most important buildings, including <strong>Santa Maria della Salute church<\/strong> or the superb <strong>Ca'Pesaro.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Sadly, Baldassarre Longhena died before completion in 1682. The remaining work was too costly for the Bon family, who decided to leave the building as it was.<\/p>\n<p>It's just a <strong>1751<\/strong> the palace was purchased by a member of the Rezzonico family, who then commissioned the illustrious architect <strong>Giorgio Massari<\/strong> to complete the work. The latter completed his work in 1756, just in time for the new Pope <strong>Clement XIII<\/strong> - from the Rezzonico family - to take up residence here.<\/p>\n<p>When the family died out in 1810, Ca'Rezzonico passed through the hands of various owners until its purchase by <strong>the city of Venice in 1935<\/strong>. The idea is simple: turn it into a museum to relieve pressure on the Correr Museum in Paris. <a href=\"https:\/\/bonjourvenise.fr\/en\/place-saint-marc\/\">St Mark's square<\/a>too small. As a result, most of the 18th-century Venetian works were transferred here and can be admired today.<\/p>\n<p>Without being <a href=\"https:\/\/bonjourvenise.fr\/en\/what-to-do-in-venice\/\">a must-see in Venice<\/a>the Palazzo Ca'Rezzonico (which means Rezzonico House!) is one of the world's largest <strong>majestic building<\/strong> which is well worth a visit, both for its facade and for the exhibitions it hosts. Here's what you can see.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Lavish architecture and decor<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>You can admire <strong>the well-kept garden<\/strong>This is where theatrical performances are sometimes held, after you've taken in the sights and sounds of the fa\u00e7ade.<\/p>\n<p>Inside, you'll be amazed by <strong>the inner courtyard<\/strong>This is a vast space, typical of palaces located on the mainland, and therefore extremely rare in Venice. Architect Longhena paid particular attention to the play of light and shadow, to give the whole a sense of grandeur. It's breathtaking when you walk through the first floor.<\/p>\n<p>You'll also see <strong>a covered gondola<\/strong>the Rezzonico family emblem on the fountain in the courtyard, and all you have to do is climb the steps to the top. <strong>magnificent monumental staircase<\/strong> to access the museum.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>The 18th-century Venetian museum<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The 18th-century Venetian museum extends over 3 floors, organized as follows:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A mezzanine with the collection <strong>Ferruccio Mestrovich<\/strong>The exhibition features paintings by Tintoretto and Carpaccio (the inventor of the dish of the same name, and patron of the <a href=\"https:\/\/bonjourvenise.fr\/en\/harrys-bar-venice\/\">Harry's Bar<\/a>)<\/li>\n<li>The 1<sup>er<\/sup> floor consisting of <strong>11 rooms<\/strong> where you can admire paintings, sculptures, frescoes and other 18th-century furniture.<\/li>\n<li>Au 2<sup>e<\/sup> floor, several painting rooms with major works by Canaletto and Tiepolo, as well as a complete room dedicated to <strong>to the works of Longhi<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>A 3<sup>e<\/sup> floor, which houses a <strong>antique pharmacy<\/strong> and the vast collection from the Pinacoth\u00e8que de <strong>Egidio Martini<\/strong>with Venetian works from the 15th to the 20th century. The exhibition features famous artists as well as some of those discovered by this wealthy donor, who has made it possible to pay them a well-deserved tribute.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>It's worth noting that Ca'Rezzonico regularly hosts <strong>temporary exhibitions<\/strong>by Italian and foreign artists.
