In fact, walking in Venice is <strong>almost always the fastest way to reach your destination.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Venetians are, in fact, usually fit and healthy, as they get around mainly on foot.<\/p>\n<p>Walking is not only the fastest way to get around Venice and a healthy activity. What's more, this public service operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.<\/p>\n<p>During the day <a href=\"https:\/\/bonjourvenise.fr\/en\/vaporetto-venice\/\">vaporetto<\/a> on the <a href=\"https:\/\/bonjourvenise.fr\/en\/grand-canal-venice\/\">Grand Canal<\/a>Venice's main canal, are served every 10 minutes. Service to the islands of <a href=\"https:\/\/bonjourvenise.fr\/en\/murano\/\">Murano<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/bonjourvenise.fr\/en\/burano\/\">Burano<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/bonjourvenise.fr\/en\/lido-venice\/\">Lido<\/a> is every 20 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>At night, vaporetto stops are served every 20 and 40 minutes respectively. Enough to keep you moving late into the streets of the old town and the city centre. <strong>discover all their charm.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3><strong>How much does a vaporetto ticket cost? <\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The price of a one-way ticket to board Venice's vaporetto line <strong>is \u20ac7.50<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The ticket is valid for 75 minutes after validation at the ticket dispenser. Once validated, you can make as many waterbus trips as you like. <strong>for the next 75 minutes.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2><a name=\"_Toc134576053\"><\/a><strong>Getting around Venice by water cab<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Venetians don't use cabs because of their high fixed prices.<\/p>\n<p>Visit<a href=\"https:\/\/bonjourvenise.fr\/en\/cab-venice\/\"> cabs<\/a> are used almost exclusively by tourists who prefer the comfort of private transport to the use of a public boat-bus.<\/p>\n<p>Cab fares are generally as follows <strong>between \u20ac100 and \u20ac130 per trip<\/strong> up to 4 people. Cabs can accommodate up to 10 passengers, but charge extra from the 5th\u1d49 passenger upwards. The fare per passenger is around \u20ac15.<\/p>\n<p>In short, cabs offer more comfort and privacy than water buses, <strong>but have a higher price tag.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2><a name=\"_Toc134576054\"><\/a><strong>Getting around in a gondola<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Visit <a href=\"https:\/\/bonjourvenise.fr\/en\/venice-gondola\/\">gondolas in Venice<\/a> are not a means of transport. Instead, they are private guided tours on the water.<\/p>\n<p>Gondola and sandolo excursions can be found in various parts of the city.<\/p>\n<p>The walks offer beautiful views of the surrounding area, <strong>last 30 minutes and cost \u20ac80<\/strong> per boat. A gondola or sandolo can accommodate up to 6 passengers, plus the gondolier.<\/p>\n<p>Bear in mind that gondolas return to their boarding station: unlike a waterbus or cab, a gondola is not used to get somewhere.<\/p>\n<p>Gondolas are the most famous traditional Venetian boats, and were the equivalent of horse-drawn carriages in other cities.<\/p>\n<p>There is one exception to gondola tours: the \"gondola da traghetto\". A \"traghetto\" is a gondola service that takes you across the Grand Canal, Venice's main waterway.<\/p>\n<p>Getting around Venice is very important. You can visit the entire city on foot. However, to reach the other <a href=\"https:\/\/bonjourvenise.fr\/en\/islands-of-venice\/\">islands or discover more of Venice's districts<\/a>If you're looking for a romantic getaway, I'd advise you to take other means of transport, such as the boat bus or cab. Of course, if you're looking for a romantic getaway, I recommend you try the gondolas at least once.
