{"id":810,"date":"2023-07-18T08:42:13","date_gmt":"2023-07-18T08:42:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bonjourvenise.fr\/?p=810"},"modified":"2024-05-25T07:06:31","modified_gmt":"2024-05-25T07:06:31","slug":"parking-a-venise","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bonjourvenise.fr\/en\/parking-in-venice\/","title":{"rendered":"Parking in Venice: where to park?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>If you want to travel to Venice by car, you'll have to leave your car in the <strong>one of the many parking lots at your disposal<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Today I'm going to tell you where to leave your car during your visit to the Old Town!<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"summary-title\">Parking in Venice: article summary<\/h2>\n<div class=\"summary-box\">\n<ul class=\"summary-list\">\n<li><a href=\"#_Toc140221727\">How to get to Venice by car<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"#_Toc140221728\">Parking in Venice: where to park?<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<h2><a name=\"_Toc140221727\"><\/a><strong>How to get to Venice by car<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Venice is located in the Veneto region, in the heart of the <strong>one of Italy's most important motorway junctions.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>For this reason, it's very easy to reach via motorways (A4 from Trieste and Turin, A27 from Belluno, A13 from Bologna) and roads (SS. 309 Romea from the Adriatic coast, SS.14 from Trieste, SS.13 from Treviso, SS .11 from Padua).<\/p>\n<p>Once near the city, you have three choices:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Park near the pedestrian zone, on the <a href=\"https:\/\/bonjourvenise.fr\/en\/parking-piazzale-roma-venice\/\">Piazzale Roma<\/a> or the Tronchetto, then reach the center on foot or by <a href=\"https:\/\/bonjourvenise.fr\/en\/vaporetto-venice\/\">vaporetto<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Park in Mestre, take the train to the center<\/li>\n<li>Leave your car in Fusina<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-811 lazyload\" data-src=\"https:\/\/bonjourvenise.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/parking-a-venise.jpg\" alt=\"parking in venice\" width=\"2048\" height=\"1365\" data-srcset=\"https:\/\/bonjourvenise.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/parking-a-venise.jpg 2048w, https:\/\/bonjourvenise.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/parking-a-venise-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/bonjourvenise.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/parking-a-venise-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/bonjourvenise.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/parking-a-venise-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/bonjourvenise.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/parking-a-venise-1536x1024.jpg 1536w\" data-sizes=\"(max-width: 2048px) 100vw, 2048px\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 2048px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 2048\/1365;\" \/><\/p>\n<h2><a name=\"_Toc140221728\"><\/a><strong>Parking in Venice: where to park?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>To help you make your choice more easily, I'd like to present you with the different solutions available. This will give you a clear idea of what to expect on site.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Piazzale Roma, a stone's throw from the center<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Piazzale Roma is located <strong>a few steps from the train station and cruise terminal<\/strong>. It's undoubtedly the most convenient place to park if you're arriving in Venice by car.<\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately, convenience comes at a price. Piazzale Roma parking lots are the busiest and therefore the most expensive. They also need to be booked well in advance to avoid the risk of finding yourself without a space.<\/p>\n<p>The site is divided into several small parking lots, such as : <strong>the municipal garage, the Garage San Marco, the Sant'Andrea parking lot and many others.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I particularly recommend the municipal garage, the largest parking lot in Piazzale Roma, with 2,000 parking spaces and 300 motorcycle parking spaces spread over six floors.<\/p>\n<p>Visit <a href=\"https:\/\/bonjourvenise.fr\/en\/parking-venice\/\">price of a parking lot<\/a><strong> per day is \u20ac26<\/strong>For this reason, I advise you to book online well in advance.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Le Tronchetto<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Tronchetto is a large parking lot on the island of the same name, accessible by turning right immediately after crossing the Liberty Bridge.<\/p>\n<p>This is an excellent solution if you can't find a place in Piazzale Roma, as prices are slightly lower and the center is quite close.<\/p>\n<p>In fact, getting to the city is very easy by taking the vaporetto or the <a href=\"https:\/\/bonjourvenise.fr\/en\/people-mover-venice\/\">People Mover<\/a>a small train that takes you to Piazzale Roma in just 4 minutes for \u20ac1.50 per journey.<\/p>\n<p>Parking at Tronchetto costs <strong>22 per day.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Parking in Venice: parking in Mestre<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Another way to get to Venice by car is to park in Mestre, near the railway station, where there are several pay parking lots.<\/p>\n<p>Parking here is cheaper than in Piazzale Roma. You'll then need to take the train to Venice.<\/p>\n<p>This can be a good solution in high season, when there's a lot to do. <strong>some queues on the Ponte della Libert\u00e0.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>There are several parking lots, but two are particularly close to the station: the Saba Stazione parking lot and the Gregory parking lot.<\/p>\n<p>The first costs 18 euros for a day ticket, while the second costs 16 euros, again for a day ticket.<\/p>\n<p>To both must be added the cost of the train ticket <strong>to Venice from Mestre station (\u20ac1.40 per trip).<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Leave your car in Fusina<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Another option for arriving near Venice by car is <strong>to park it at the Fusina Terminal.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It's a solution little known to tourists, and you should be able to find space in this area.<\/p>\n<p>Parking at the Fusina terminal is very simple. Exit at the Mestre-Venezia tollbooth and continue towards Ravenna until you see the \"Parking + Boat to Venice\" signs.<\/p>\n<p>The price, with the online ticket,<strong> is \u20ac5 per day, plus \u20ac13 per person.<\/strong> for the vaporetto to the city.<\/p>\n<p>Once you've parked your car, all that's left to do is catch the boat to Venice, about 100 meters from the parking lot.<\/p>\n<p>The frequency of motorboats is approximately one per hour. Travel time is just 20 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>However, this is an impractical solution, <strong>because motorboats are not that common<\/strong>. You may have to wait a long time.<\/p>\n<p>There are many ways to park in Venice.
