The flooded crypt of Venice
The church of San Zaccaria is just a few steps from the famous Piazza San Marco and you can visit its crypt...flooded!
You'll pass through the superb Golden Chapel, with its frescoes and woodcarvings, before reaching the crypt. Eight of Venice's first doges are buried here, and it is now flooded for much of the year.
