Vaporetto Venice: article summary
Vaporetto Venice, the waterbus that takes you along the city's canals
Venice is a unique city in the world, with its lagoon and the canals that criss-cross the alleyways, and the most obvious way to get around, it's the vaporetto !
Vaporetti are boat-buses, used as much in the city as in the country. by citizens for their daily transportation than by city services (police, ambulance, post office, etc.). They take their name from the steam-powered operation that characterized the first models to appear on the market. in June 1881even if they are now powered by hydrogen or electric motors.
The average length of Venice's Vaporetto is 24 meters long and can accommodate around 200 people. The latest models are equipped with systems that reduce water movement and eliminate the noise and waves that used to crash against buildings. This is a major technical advance, given the fragility of Venice.
ACTV (Azienda Consorzio Trasporti Veneziano) manages the vaporetti and buses of Venice (in the land part of the city)/ If you want to get around the city easily, you'll certainly want to use them. You can opt for a complete Pass valid for Vaporetti, Buses and some ACTV trains, making your life easier.
I present it to you, so that you can circulate on the Grand Canal like a Venetian during your stay in the Serenissima.
