Can you visit Venice in 3 days?
Venice is an exciting cityIt's as much for its unique layout as for its fascinating history. Of course, you'd need much more time to discover it in its entirety, but a 3-day visit will do the trick.
Indeed, the city is not very large - at least its historical partThe area is on the water - so it's easy to get around, on foot or by car. by vaporettoand make the tour in just a few days.
I present to you an itinerary which allows you to pass through main points of interest Venice, with its most beautiful monuments and even discover some unusual places of the Serenissima. We're off!

Day 1: Venice's main districts
On your first day, I invite you to discover the city's most famous district: that of San Marco.
This is where you'll find the superb Place Saint Marcand the Saint Mark's Basilicathe Venice Campanile and the Doge's Palace.
In addition to these must-see attractionsyou can :
- Coffee at the famous Café Florianor enjoy a Bellini at the Harry's Bar
- Visit Bridge of Sighs via the Doge's Palace or simply photograph it from the outside
- Walk to the Rialto Bridge (in the nearby San Polo), one of the world's most famous bridges, and enjoy the Rialto market on the docks
- Visit the Correr Museum dedicated to the history of Venice,
- Discover the impressive la Feniceon a visit that's sure to leave a lasting impression!
That should take you all morning and early afternoon!
During the in the afternoonyou can explore the surrounding neighbourhoods and visit some of the museums in Dorsoduroto choose from Peggy Guggenheim collection for lovers of contemporary art, or the superb Galleria Dell'Accademia to discover Venetian masterpieces.
An already busy programme, which leaves you the evening to relax!

Day 2: Explore the Venice region
While Venice's historic center is full of wonders, it would be a shame to miss out on the charming islands of the lagoon in Venice. For me, this can be a very good visit program for your second day in the Serenissima.
Visit two main islands are not to be missed:
Not far from these two islands, you'll find Torcelloless famous than its two sisters, but not lacking in charm.
These islands are accessible by boatbut I recommend you opt for a 6-hour excursion departing from Venice, which takes you all the way around! It starts at 11 a.m., leaving you free in the morning. And ends around 6 p.m.to enjoy the evening!
Day 3: Discover the secrets of Venice
There are so many things Things to do and see in Venice that the last day could be the one when you let your desires guide you. Exploring new neighborhoods? A random stroll along the Grand Canal ? Visit the city's churches and religious monuments ?
Here are a few suggestions for enjoy the 3e day to make the most of your Venetian stay:
- Visit Venice's Jewish quarter in the heart of Cannaregio
- Discover the Castello district in which the Venice Arsenal
- Climb to the top of the Palazzo Contarini del Bovolo with its atypical staircase
- Take a trip to Aqua Alta bookshopone of the most original bookshops in the world!
- Cross the lagoon to discover the island of San Giorgio Maggiore and its superb basilica, to take beautiful photos of Venice
Of course, I can only recommend that you stroll through the cityand follow your instincts to get a little lost.
You may come across little hidden treasures at the bend of a canal! Or on traditional stalls or beautiful courtyards, in a Venice that still contains many wonders!

Where to eat during these 3 days in Venice?
Of course, there are a wide choice of restaurants in Venice, a city with a strong culinary tradition. But the choice isn't always easy, and tourist traps are, alas, plentiful.

Where to stay for 3 days in Venice?
Clearly, if you visit Venice in 3 daysI strongly recommend that you choose a hotel or accommodation in the city center, if possible close to the monuments you wish to visit.
It would be a shame to waste time on journeys or depend on the vaporetti to discover Venice!
