A romantic boat trip in Venice
If you're traveling with your other half and are looking for romantic and unusual things to do in Venice, consider a romantic sunset excursion on a boat instead of a romantic ride in a car. gondola.
Yes, it probably won't be a private boat ride, but it'll be a lot more special than a gondola ride!
You can sail on a typical Venetian boat through the lagoon and see the islands. Murano and Buranothen sail along the Lido. Then head for the peaceful islands of San Lazzaro degli Armeni, San Servolo, San Clemente, Le Grazie, Giudecca and San Giorgio Maggiore.
If you don't want to share it with others, you can also splurge on aa private tour and hire a boat just for you.
Watch the sunrise from the Rialto bridge
Going out early in the morning in Venice is a good idea, as it gives you the chance to enjoy the best of the sights without the crowds. You won't be alone, but there will be fewer people.
You'll probably find quite a few people with tripods and cameras on the bridges, as the view is incredible. Visit Rialto is one of the best places to photographing Venice.
You can also visit the Accademia Bridge. This offers a beautiful view of the Basilica of Santa Maria della Salute and the surrounding lagoon.
Stay in Venice: visit one of Venice's many gardens
Yes, Venice is a city, and it has many canals. However, it also has quite a few gardens, and they're gorgeous!
Some of the most famous are :
- Visit Gardini della Biennale The Venice Gardens: a park where the Venice Biennale festival is held every year. They're also known as Napoleon's Gardens, because Napoleon wanted them that way. It's the largest park in Venice and one of the few with a children's playground.
- Visit Giardini Papadopoli Located right next to the station, it's the perfect place to relax while waiting for public transport.
- Visit Giardini Reali one of the city's central parks, situated as it is between the place Saint-Marc and the lagoon. One of Venice's most beautiful green oases, it has been restored in 2019.
The Scala Contarini del Bovolo: a real hidden gem
The Scala Contarini del Bavolo is an outdoor staircase from the Palazzo Contarini del Bovolo. The palace was built in the 15th century as one of the residences of the Contarini family. It is located in a lesser-known street near Campo Manin, not far from the Rialto Bridge.
The staircase leads up to an observation platform offering beautiful views of Venice.
Stay in Venice: take in a show at the Gran Teatro La Fenice
Fenice means "Phoenix" in Italian, and the name is no coincidence. La Fenice has burned down a few times, but always rises from the ashes.
It's an incredible place not only because of its historical value, but also because it's so beautiful!
You can take a tour, of course, but a more unique experience would certainly be to ve'll be there to enjoy one of the many shows taking place every evening.
If you want to go to the theater, be sure to dress appropriately. It's likely that they won't let you in if you're wearing just jeans and a T-shirt.
Visit the church and island of San Giorgio Maggiore
The Chiesa San Giorgio Maggiore on the island of the same name just off the coast of Venice is an incredible place. Very close to Venice, it won't take you long to get there.
San Giorgio Maggiore is important as a historical monument, as it is the first church that Palladio designed entirely from start to finish.
To get there easily, you have a number of Vaporettos that can get you there. So you can be sure of getting to this exceptional place very quickly.
